U'khand Peyjal Nigam employees to boycott on March 17

The employees of Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam under the banner Of Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam officer Employee Joint Coordination Committee have decided to boycott their works by locking their offices across the State on March 17. They say that thousands of employees are not getting their salary for the past four months.

The Committee president AK Chaturvedi addressed the media persons and said that the Chief Minister on May 22, 2014 had principally agreed on regularisation of Peyjal Nigam and had directed then additional chief secretary to form a committee over this issue. This committee had approved integration and regularisation of Peyjal agencies.

However, the State administration delayed this issue and no action was taken over the above approval, he said, adding that  the committee had taken out a rally on December 14, 2015 and a memorandum submitted to no avail.

On the same issue, they had symbolically protested outside Peyjal headquarters from March 3 and March 11, he said.  He further said that the committee has decided to protest at their offices across the State on March 14 and March 15 and a memorandum will be submitted addressing the State government.  If their demands are not met despite the stir, they will go closing their offices as a part of state wide agitation on March 17, he warned.
