The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal is all set to launch a Jan Aaroksh rally in Srinagar as part of its strategy to build the party as an alternative to Congress and BJP — two national parties — that are running the show in the State. The decision to launch the rally venting protest against the two national parties having failed to develop the State the way it should be would be taken at the party’s central executive committee meeting to be held in Srinagar of Pauri district on Tuesday. The top brass of the party leadership would attend it with the president Pushpesh Tripathi presiding over it. The meeting would deliberate on policies to be adopted to make it a viable alternative to the two national parties in the state politics. Besides, an organisational re-jig starting from grassroots in view of the upcoming Assembly election slated in 2017 would be taken up after the meeting is over.
Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Pauri district president Suresh Chandra Juyal said on Monday that the party workers from across the district will participate in large numbers in the Jan Aakrosh rally to be taken out in Srinagar. He stressed that the people of the state are frustrated with the two national parties doing nothing to rise up to the dream that spawned Uttarakhand. “We are focusing on the youths who are getting increasingly frustrated with the way State is being run,” he said.
Uttarakhand Kranti Dal’s student wing Uttarakhand Student Federation-backed candidates were elected secretary and vice-president in the student union election in Pauri campus and Srinagar campus respectively of Garhwal Central University, a development that has come as a shot in the arm of the still fledgling regional party.
