Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Panwar) claims to have successfully completed the first stage of its public awareness campaign aimed at preventing the BJP and Congress from returning to power in Uttarakhand. A total of 657 new members joined the party in the first stage of its campaign concluded in the Garhwal region, said the party chief Trivendra Singh Panwar.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, the party chief accused the BJP and Congress of having prevented the achievement of the desired level of development in the State. He said that the UKD is undertaking a campaign to keep these two national parties out of power in Uttarakhand. He said, “In the first stage of this campaign conducted in the Garhwal region, we added 657 new members to the party and raised public awareness about the need for keeping the BJP and Congress out of power in the State. The second phase of this campaign will start in the Kumaon region from September 22. The second stage will begin with a conclave in Haldwani on September 22 to raise awareness among the public on the need for electing a regional party to power and keeping the two national parties out of power. We will expose the Congress and BJP in the public informing the people about how the successive State Governments headed by these two national parties did nothing to control corruption and facilitate the desired level of development in the State,” he said. Panwar further said that the UKD had already started preparations for the 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections. The third phase of the UKD campaign will be started in October.
