In an important development, the State Government has allocated Rs702 crore to the districts under district plan to ensure development in each of the districts of the state. There would be now no reason for the district to complain of fund coming late, the government officials said.
Now, the fund has been kept under the discretion of district magistrate. The district administration can execute works as it pleases. It has been noticed that most of the time the officials keep grumbling over budget not being received in time from the State Government. They complain that they cannot release the budget under different heads-something that affects development, slowing down the process. Things compound for them as they are register so that inspection team gets access of the detail at any point of time.
