Samajwadi Party on Thursday alleged that the Uttarakhand Government has failed to extend relief to the disaster affected people and locals in disaster affected areas. The party also accused the Government of starting the rescue operation with a delay.
SP Uttarakhand unit president Dr Satyanarayan Sachan said, “The government should have started the rescue operation on June 17. It was started only on June 19. They failed to asses the ground situation on June 17. By the time Government came to know about the situation, it was too late.”
He expressed concern over the locals who were still waiting for relief in disaster affected areas.
There was severe lack of coordination during rescue and relief operation. It took around 16 days to complete the rescue operation.
Had the Government been made preparation earlier, it would have been able to respond promptly. Ironically, it could not happen.
They delivered rescue and relief late. Now the Government should extend relief to the residents of the villages in the tough terrains.
