U'khand BJP MPs blamed

Published on:

Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union Government of maintaining its negative bias towards Uttarakhand by keeping it out of the list of 27 smart city proposals announced on Tuesday, Chief Minister Harish Rawat's media in-charge Surendra Kumar demanded that the five BJP lok Sabha members from the State should resign from their post.

Making the most of the 'opportunity' to continue the political blame game, Kumar suggested that the five BJP MPs from the State should stage a protest demonstration at the office of the Union Urban Development Minister. Referring to the explanation given by Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu about Dehradun smart city proposal being rejected due to the 2013 disaster and floods in the State, Kumar termed it a silly statement which also amounts to insulting the people of Dehradun. The Chief Minister's media in-charge further alleged that the five lok Sabha MPs from Uttarakhand had exerted pressure on the Union Government to keep Uttarakhand's proposal out of the list with the intention of gaining ulterior political aims.
