UKD(Panwar) stages dharna over State capital

The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Panwar) members staged a protest near the idol of Statehood activist Indramani Badoni on issues including condition of health services, power and water supply, roads, transportation, employment, migration, corruption and the demand for declaring Gairsain as the permanent State capital.

The party’s media in-charge Manmohan lakhera said that instead of taking action against those mired in corruption, the State Government is protecting such persons.

He accused Chief Minister Harish Rawat of being guided by regionalism in protecting the allegedly corrupt Education director CS Gwal.

“Successive State Governments headed by national parties have not thought seriously about facilitating the required development in mountainous regions of Uttarakhand since State formation. Even now, people in the mountainous areas continue to suffer from lack of proper facilities which is also fueling migration from the mountains. The Government is protecting corrupt officials and employees,” he added.
