Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) president Kashi Singh Aiary claimed his party will emerge as a strong alternate to the two national parties –Congress and BJP in the 2017 Assembly election of Uttarakhand. Since the State was carved out of Uttar Pradesh nothing has come up by way of development that could make the statehood activists who sacrificed everything, even life, happy. The State Governments in succession keep aping the Uttar Pradesh model of development. The UKD has launched Uttarakhand Bachao, Uttarakhand Basao movement in the State. The party will stage a movement, demanding Gairsain be announced the permanent capital of the Uttarakhand on the foundation day of the State that is on 9 November, he said while interacting with media at Pauri. He said that the State had come into being following the prolonged and vigorous movement spearheaded by his party. But unfortunately, power came to those parties which were hostile to the demand of statehood. The party lost its connect with the people due to the ego-propelled factional bickering. Other parties came up in the scene and we were deprived of the opportunity to deliver on the front of development of the State for whose creation we fought steadfastly. Aiary said that efforts are being made for the unification of the factions. The villagers migrating due to wrong agriculture policy is a sad reflection of the state of things here, he said. Responding to a question, he said to conduct the Cabinet meeting in Kedarnath is right, but the decision of the Cabinet should be implemented on the ground. On 21 November, UKD will stage gheoro of the Chief Minister’s residence, he added
