The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) has alleged that a group Janeyu Kranti Sanstha (JKS) which is based in another state has built a set up in Manjkot area of Satpuli in Pauri district which is causing problems for the locals.
The representatives of the party further stated that nothing was done even after complaints were filed by the people seeking verification of the group. UKD further urged that officials should take steps for verifying the people as such groups are disturbing the peace and lives of local residents.
Party representative Vijay Baurai said, “There are 100 people living under the name of JKS in the area that have totally ruined the peace and lives of local residents.
If the residents try to lodge complaints regarding the group then the representatives of the group threaten people that they will lodge complaints against the locals under SC-ST Act.
All the people in the group are from another state and no verification has been done so far.”UKD district chief Sunil Dhyani said, “The people from the group have also ill-treated women of the village multiple times. Our party representative in Pauri, Manmohan Pant sent a letter to the police department and district magistrate of Pauri after which he was assured that necessary action would be taken in this matter.
However, the department concerned has not even tried to register the people living in the group.
The group is also building an Ashram in the village. We further want necessary action against the group as well as against the construction of the Ashram.”
