The Uttarakhand Ex Services league (UESl) has expressed its gratitude to the district administration of Dehradun for helping a widow of armed forces veteran.
The president of UESl Brigadier RS Rawat said that wife of late lt Col AN Shome, Chitralekha had leased her house on rent last year and was living with one of her sisters.
She was not receiving rent since May 2015 due to which she asked the tenant to leave the property, the tenant, however, refused to vacate and intimidated her showing off his political connections. Rawat said that the woman suffers from near loss of eyesight due to advanced stage of Glaucoma and seeing her condition, the UESl appealed the district magistrate to help her. He said that with the proactive approach taken by district magistrate and ADM, the property was finally vacated by the recalcitrant tenant on Thursday.
