Two days long Khatima Mahotsav was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here in Khatima on Saturday. In his address, Rajnath Singh said that Khatima is known for Martyre and movement because Uttarakhand agitation began from here with an incident of Khatima goli kand (Firing incident) on September 1, 1994. That firing incident has laid the foundation of Uttarakhand State. later, Uttarakhand came into inception as separate State from Uttar Pradesh and as the 27th State of India by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Under his leadership UP assembly has passed a bill of Uttarakhand. He is well aware that Khatima's land is being konwn as land of martyre because mother has borned valiant son and they are protecting nation's boundary round the clock. On the occasion of Khatima Mahotsav he would love to pay respect to those valiant son at Khatima, said Rajnath singh.
In his address Khatima MlA Pushkar Singh Dhami apprised Union Home Minister that Khatima is land of coordination because it has welcomed everyone including Punjab, Bengal and Eastern UP as well. Tharu schedule tribe is having history of its patriotism and its culture has given special identity to the Khatima. Serving in Army and Paramilitary is first priority of this region and it has long history of martyre. They never made compromise either fighting neither at border nor in Rajya Aandolan (Uttarkahand Movement). Uttarakhand was formed during BJP led NDA regime in the year 2000. Now internal security is being strengthened under your leadership.
Dhami apprised the home minister that people have roti-beti relationship between India and Nepal here and few anti-national elements are trying to disturb the peace and harmony of both countries. If you establish any division or Training institute of Para military here in khatima then it will help in vigilance at border as well. Besides it, if you orgnaise special recruitment camp of army and Para military here then youth would get employment opportunity as well.
Khatima is situated between hills and Tarai and sharing international boundary with Nepal. He would try to make their contribution so that Khatima's youth, business and farmers should not left in cut throat competition. He is well aware that borders areas lack vocational education and people have limited scope other than traditional business.
Appreciating local MlA Dhami, Rajnath Singh said that he knows him since he was active member of ABVP in lucknow university. Due to his positive thinking Khatima people elected him as public representative in Uttarkahand Assembly. He has managed to fulfill his poll promises i.e. ITI and polytechnique, several connecting roads and other basic amenities here
Even Udhamsinghnagar MP and Ex-CM Bhagat Singh Koshyari has selected Bagga 54 Sarpuda village under Parlimentarian model village scheme. The village left out due to lack of connecting road and tele connectivity. Now bank, post office, mobile tower and connecting road like other basic amenities have reached. For this he appreciated the local MP Koshyari as well.
