After heavy rains struck different parts of Pauri district on Monday, district magistrate Chandra Shekhar Bhatt has instructed the chief education officer to close all the Government, Government- aided and private institutions spread across the district from standard 01 to 12th for 7 and 8 July.He said they had taken the decision while acting on the heavy rainfall warning issued by the weather department.According to the forecast, Pauri district is likely to have whopping 80 to 160 mm rains in a couple of days.
Bhatt said that to cope with things, the sector magistrate has been appointed for each of the 15 blocks of the district. All such nominated sector magistrates have been instructed to coordinate with the sub- district magistrates and tehsildars concerned. They have been asked to inform the disaster control room promptly in case anything happens.
