The members belonging to the Trained Unemployed Physical Teacher Association (TUPTA) undertook a march to the Secretariat in support of their demand for creation of post of physical education teachers in Government schools on Tuesday.

To press for their long pending demands, the members of TUPTA gathered at protest site located at old Raipur Bus stand and marched to the state secretariat, where they raised vociferous slogans against the state government.

The State president of TUPTA, Sundar Dhoni told The Pioneer that the unemployed physical education graduates are sitting on a Dharna for last 593 days but the state government has done nothing apart from giving false assurances.

He said that patience of the agitating members is fast waning. Dhoni said that on the assurance of state Chief Minister Harish Rawat the TUPTA had discontinued its hunger strike in the month of January but the state government has done nothing since then. The association is demanding creation of posts of physical teachers in all government schools. The TUPTA is also demanding that the vacant posts of physical education teachers should be filled without any further delay.
