In a road accident case reported on Sunday on the Mussoorie-Dhanaulti road, a truck transporting sand flipped over resulting in traffic blockade for more than four hours on the route.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Mussoorie police station Bhawna Kainthola said, “The truck flipped over in the morning and blocked the route. First we asked for two JCBs, which took time to reach at Bataghat, but even with JCBs the truck could not be set right. Then we called disaster control room and asked for a crane. It took us about four hours to clear the route.”
According to the information provided by the local police, the truck driver was not in the vehicle at the time of accident. The truck was big and heavily loaded and parked on a slope. Prima facie it appears that the truck got unbalanced and flipped over.
For over four hours the Mussoorie Dhanaulti route was diverted both from Mussoorie and Tehri sides but was restored after the crane succeeded in taking the truck out of the way.
