Uttarakhand Governor Krishna Kant Paul said that the tree plantation work carried out by the Eco-Task Force (Garhwal Eco Warriors) in areas without good tree cover is a unique and very successful effort in the field of environmental conservation. The governor said this during a courtesy visit paid to him by the force’s units commanding officer Colonel KS Jaggi at the Raj Bhawan in Dehradun on Thursday.
Interacting with Col Jaggi to learn about the activities of the eco task force, the governor said that this way of showing respect and devotion towards the environment by soldiers of the Indian army was as important and glorious as their work of defending the nation. The governor also suggested that these activities of the task force should be highlighted in a tableau at the Republic Day parade on Rajpath in New Delhi.
