A national secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party Tirath Singh Rawat felicitated some beneficiaries of several welfare schemes rolled by the Centre and the State Government at a function held at Gopeshwar in Chamoli district on Friday. The function was meant to take the welfare schemes like PM Aawas, Ujjawala, Shaubhagya, Pension Beema, Skill development and Swachch Bharat to the people so as to ensure that the people avail them in full measure, the organisers said.
Addressing the gathering, Rawat said that the Centre and the State Government have been endeavouring hard to uplift the people economically with focus trained on Sab ka Sath, Sab Ka Vikas. “The Centre has rolled out a string of welfare schemes, including Ujjawala, which is meant to provide free gas connection to the households of the poorest of the poor. Similarly, the Centre is trying hard to skill the unemployed youth so that they can attain skill for jobs,” he said. He also mentioned Mudra Yojana and Jan Dhan Yojana which, he claimed, have transformed the life of many from the unprivileged sections of the society. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment that every homeless family would be provided with a home of their own by 2022.
Convener of the seminar MlA Badrinath Mahendra Bhatt said that the focus of the welfare schemes is mainly on women empowerment and on providing succor to the poor.
Among others present were MlA Tharali Munni Devi Shah and BJP district president Mohan Prasad Thapliyal.
