Two sisters were gang raped in Palamu’s Chhaterpur last night. One of the two sisters is a minor. DSP Chhaterpur Shambhu Kumar Singh said, “Gang rape incident of two sisters was reported to Chhaterpur police station around 9.30 this Wednesday morning and the police swung into action. The sisters live in a rented house on NH 98 just one kilometer way from the police station.”
Quoting the victims the DSP said that last night around 11 pm one Chhotu Yadav and two others entered the house of these two sisters who live in a rented house on NH 98 and the three gangraped them. The DSP doubted that one of the three rapists might be a minor.
He further said Yadav too lives in the same vicinity where these two sisters live in a lodge on rent. Quoting victims he said that Yadav and two others had their faces covered to hide their identity. The DSP hinted that the other two could be local ones whom Yadav allied in to commit this heinous crime.
A man hunt is on to nab any of the three especially Chhotu Yadav as his arrest will spill all the beans. Chhaterpur police have registered a criminal case under appropriate sections of IPC like rape and also under section of child protection act since one of the two sisters is a minor.
Sources said Yadav knew these two sisters. Police will scrutinize the call details of the sisters if Chhotu Yadav and two others used to torture or harass or intimidate them in the recent past.
The two victim sisters have been admitted to the sadar hospital in Daltonganj where a team of doctors will examine them for the verity of rape and other sexual assault. Report of medical examination of these two will be submitted by the team in a day or two said sources.
The two sisters are pursuing education and skill development. One sister is an intermediate student while the other is taking lessons in tailoring. The two sisters came from a village about 15 Kms West of Chhaterpur police station.
