Uttarakhand police have arrested three persons, including Sahdev Tomar alias Yogesh, an accused of Roorkee jail deputy jailor murder case, when the trio was firing at a trader Mohammad Mehtab at roadways stand in Haldwani on late Monday night. Tomar from Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) had recently come out of the jail on bail.
Two other accused have been identified as Sanjay Sonkar, resident of Banbhulpura, Haldwani and Kunal Bisht, resident of Mukhani. Police recovered three pistols and cartridges from their possession. A case under appropriate sections of IPC was registered in Haldwani police station. Besides, the state additional director general of police (law and order) Ashok Kumar asked the police to ensure that the bail of Tomar is cancelled.
