The State Government has appointed a committee of three elected members to oversee the administrative and financial responsibilities of President District Panchayat of Haridwar. The husband of the district Panchayat President, Anjum Begum was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police for travelling with uncounted sum of money recently.
Following the complaint the district magistrate of Haridwar had conducted an inquiry against the District Panchayat President and seized her financial and administrative powers.
The state government on Thursday appointed member district Panchayat Sultanpur Tahir Hasan, member Akbarpur Kalan Vijaypal and member from Harjoli Ojha area, Kusum Singh and vested the administrative and financial powers of District Panchayat President.
It is worth mentioning here that Anjun Begum is sister in law of former MlA Mohammad Shahzad who recently rejoined BSP even though the State Congress was expecting that he would join the party.
