Various types of autoimmune disorders affect different parts of the body. In a person suffering from such a disorder, the immune system becomes weak leaving the body incapable of fighting against the diseases. The Ayurveda system of medicine is the best system for boosting the immune system of the body, he said. He further said that autoimmune disorders occur when the body’s immune system struggles against the toxins in the body, infections and impurities ingested along with food. This results in the body becoming weak and getting afflicted by various diseases. He suggested that in order to ensure protection from autoimmune disease, one must immediately make necessary changes in the dietary habits. One must consume foods that boost the immune system, he stressed. Food items like turmeric, fresh fruits, green vegetables, milk and who grains should be consumed in more quantity. In addition to these dietary changes, one must also include exercise in the daily routine for achieving the desired results.

Academicians from various institutions involved in the study of Ayurveda and health along with researchers and students were also among those present on the occasion.
