'They hit me with bricks on Sept 14'

Deepak Sahani, an overseas citizen of India (OCI) from Switzerland, living in a locality on Kanwali Road in Dehradun for the past two years, has alleged that his neighbours, including a local BJP local leader, are out to murder him. A life-threatening attack had been made on him on September 14, he said. He further said police have not done anything despite being appealed to repeatedly.

While interacting with media persons on Wednesday in Dehradun, he said he had sought from the senior police officers a high level inquiry into the threat to life he has been facing.

Sahani said that he has been living alone in his house along with six pet dogs. According to him, his neighbours, including Jeet Singh Rauthan, BJP ward member, Digamber Singh Tomar, Bhagirath Sharma, Pintu and CD Shukla are hell- bent on murdering him. “They hit me with bricks on September 14 night, branding me as an ISI agent. The CCTV cameras I installed at my residence would give evidence of how I am being  subjected to torture, both physical and mental,” he  said.

He further said the role of cops is disappointing. “I have sought help from the local police post. But they are indifferent.  Even submission of a complaint at SSP office done a few days ago has come to no avail,” he lamented.

“A high level inquiry to be conducted by the  senior police officers is the only thing that  can stop  my neighbours from targeting me and tagging with ISI slur,” he added.
