Manoj Chauhan, a resident of Babugarh (Vikasnagar) who had gone to New Delhi five days ago complained to the police on Sunday that his locked home was burglarised by thieves and took away jewellery and other items worth around Rs one lakh from his home.
Vikasnagar Circle Officer SK Singh said that in his complaint, Chauhan said that he along with his family members had gone to New Delhi to meet his relatives five days ago. After returning home on Saturday, he found someone had burglarised his home after breaking window. Thieves took away jewellery and other items worth around Rs 1 lakh from his home. A case under appropriate sections of IPC was registered against unidentified persons in Vikasnagar police station.
A team has been formed and they deployed at various places to nab the culprits, he added. Singh further said that Anti-Theft Cell has been established at SSP office to ensure swift police response after the occurrence of the crime in the district. One sub-inspector and four constables are deputed here. At least, one constable is on duty during 24 hours.
“We have circulated anti-theft cell number through various media at various places in the Vikasnagar area so that people dial when they leave their home locked. In spite of this, the residents are not informing the police when they go out of station,” he added. Singh appealed the public to inform police on the anti-theft cell number 7409783119 or local police station number if they go out of station for some days.
