The party's education cell blamed private schools for flouting RTE Act provisions

The education cell of District BJP has threatened to start an agitation if the education department fails to rein in the private school operators. The cell organised a meeting on Wednesday and charged the private schools for violating the provisions of Right to Education (RTE).

In the meeting, the education cell blamed the private schools for not giving admissions to poor students as per the RTE and arbitrarily raising the fees every year. The district convener of the Education Cell of BJP, Niraj Singhal said that the schools are charging fees for issuing Transfer Certificate (TC) which is unlawful.

He also alleged that the private schools deliberately do not subscribe the books of National Council of Education and Research (NCERT) as they are cheap. Singhal said that the parent who dares to complain against these schools is harassed by the respective authorities.

He also charged the education department for only paying lip service to the RTE and not taking any effective action against these schools. The education cell’s BM Sharma, AK Gupta, SK Choudhary, MD Maurya and others were also present in the meeting.
