The former PCC President is likely to join the BJP soon

In a punitive action the Congress party has removed former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Kishore Upadhyaya from all party positions. The senior leader has been charged with hobnobbing with the BJP in Uttarakhand and indulging in anti party activities. Upadhyaya is now expected to join the BJP.

In a letter directed to the Upadhyaya the in- charge of Uttarakhand Congress Devendra Yadav said that the people of Uttarakhand are yearning for change and are waiting to throw out the corrupt BJP government. In the letter Yadav accused Upadhyaya of hobnobbing with BJP and indulging in anti party activities.

The tone and tenor of the letter clearly indicates that the Congress party is in no mood to tolerate the dissenters and wants a united front against the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.

Upadhyaya was the head of the election coordination committee of Uttarakhand Congress and was a member of the election steering committee. It is pertinent to mention here that Upadhyaya had recently met senior BJP leaders in the middle of the night which fuelled speculations of him joining the saffron party. He was also regularly targeting the head of campaign committee of Uttarakhand Congress Harish Rawat. Despite repeated attempts, Upadhyaya was not available for his comment on the development.
