RST Sai, CMD, THDC India limited (THDCIl) received First Prize of Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award on the occasion of Hindi Diwas from President Pranab Mukharjee at the auditorium of Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
It is pertinent to mention that THDCIl has received this award in recognition of excellence and the outstanding performance in the field of implementation of Rajbhasha Policy of the Goverment of India in the year 2013-13. THDCIl has been conferred with this award fourth time, earlier also the corporation was given this honour in the year 2008- The Prize distribution ceremony was chaired by Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister, Nita Choudhary, Secretary (Department of Official language), Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI, and other senior officials of the various Ministries, Govt. Organisations and PSU's were present in the ceremony.
On behalf of THDC India limited S.K. Biswas, Director (Personnel), Padmavathi Sai, and AK. Srivastav, Sr.Manager (Hindi), attended the ceremony.
THDC India limited is a Joint Venture of Union Government and Uttar Pradesh Government. Since the commissioning of its first project viz. Tehri Dam and Hydro Power Plant (Tehri HPP-1000 MW) a multipurpose project on the river Bhagirathi in 2006-07 and Koteshwar HEP
(400 MW) in 2011-12, THDCIl is a profit making organization and one of the premier hydro power generators in the country bestowed with 'Mini Ratna-Category-I & Schedule 'A' Status. Corporation is also diversifying into other areas such as Thermal, Wind and Solar Energy and also engaged
in Hydro Power Development at abroad.
