THDC India limited (THDCIl) received the Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award (Second) from President Pranab Mukherjee at Vigyan Bhawan on Saturday.
THDCIl CMD RST Sai has received this award in recognition of excellence and the outstanding performance in the field of implementation of Rajbhasha Policy of the Union Government in the year 2013-14.
THDCIl has been conferred with this award fifth time, earlier also the corporation was given this honour in the year 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 & 2012-13.
The Prize distribution ceremony was chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of state for Home Kiren Rijiju, Secretary language Nita Choudhary and other senior officials of the various Ministries, Organizations & PSU’s were present in the ceremony. On behalf of THDC India limited Deepak Sarwal, Executive Director and AK Srivastav, Sr. Manager (Hindi), attended the ceremony.
THDCIl is one of the premier hydro power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1400 MW with commissioning of Tehri & Koteshwar Dam to its credit and is bestowed with ‘Mini Ratna-Category-I & Schedule ‘A’ Status. THDCIl also has plans to increase its installed capacity to 2424 MW by the end of XIII th Plan.
