THDC India limited (THDCIl) observed its 28th Foundation Day on Sunday. RST Sai, CMD, DV Singh, Director (Technical) and SK Biswas, D (P) inaugurated the function at Corporate Office Rishikesh by lightening the lamp. Sai addressed the members of THDCIl family and the guests and also hoisted THDCIl flag prior to this. Vijay Goel, GM(P&A) delivered the welcome address and greeting the gathering.
On this occasion THDCIl awarded its employees under Award & Reward scheme. The series of activities were organized as a part of Foundation Day Celebrations such as Painting competition, Inter Unit Volley Ball Tournament, Voluntary Blood Donation Camp, Run for Cleanliness etc. The winners of these competitions were also awarded. Performers of Sri Sai Kala Mandir, Dehradun presented the cultural programmes.

Corporation limited was formed on July 12, 1988 as a joint venture of Govt. of India and Govt. of U.P. THDCIl successfully commissioned Tehri HPP (1000MW) in 2006-07 and Koteshwar HEP (400MW) in 2011-12.
THDCIl is one of the premier hydro power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1400 MW with commissioning of Tehri & Koteshwar Dam to its credit and is bestowed with 'Mini Ratna-Category-I & Schedule 'A'
