Irked over DAV College management's decision on sending proposal for the formation of university to the State Government and directing college principal to implement the Government order, College Teachers' Association member DK Tyagi met Rajpur Road MlA Rajkumar.
Tyagi said that a delegation of teachers led by MlA Rajkumar will meet the Chief Minister for redressal of their grievances soon. A delegation of college teachers headed by Tyagi met MlA Rajkumar and apprised him about management's decision on formation of new university and teachers' concern over this issue.
According to Tyagi, college teachers have disapproved management's decision on new university as this would lead to privatisation of education and teachers' concerns will be affected in future. As DAV (PG) College is Government aided college so Government cannot issue new guidelines for this college. Management can issue new guidelines to the college administration. The association members have opposed the formation of new university because the existing service conditions of teaching and non teaching staff might be reversed later on by the State Government. In regard to the management's decision on formation of new university, the college teaching and non-teaching staff are being supported by officer bearers of various college unions, he added. Tyagi said that MlA Rajkumar assured that he would lead a delegation of college teachers to meet the CM to discuss this issue soon.
