Teachers' supplementary merit list to be prepared by SCERT

Many did not turn up for counseling

The education department will soon release the supplementary list of the candidates for selection in the posts which remained vacant after the counselling process for recruitment of 2,794 primary teachers.

It is learnt that many candidates whose name appeared in the merit list released by the department did not appear in the counselling process due to various reasons. Though the department is yet to receive the final report from the districts it is estimated that more than 400 posts are still vacant.

The Officiating director of State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), Seema Jaunsari said that the district education officers (DEOs) have been asked to send the report of the status of recruitment in their districts. She said that after the SCERT receives the final figures from the districts the supplementary list of the candidates would be prepared.

After failing to get their places in the merit list the left out candidates are now pinning their hopes to make in the supplementary list for the job of primary teachers. They are also enthused by recent announcement of the state government that 389 more posts would be added in the recruitment drive.

These left out candidates raised a huge hue and cry after the merit list was released. They alleged that many serving teachers have also applied in the present recruitment drive without obtaining the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the education department.

On the complaints of such candidates the education department ordered to take strict action against such candidates, probably due to this threat many serving candidates choose to abstain from the counseling paving the way of some left out candidates.
