The admission process for different graduation and post-graduation courses in the MKP (PG) College may be affected adversely as MKP College Non-Teaching Employee Association has decided to boycott work from Wednesday to demand release of their two months’ salaries.
However, MKP College Society general secretary Jitendra Negi claimed that alternative arrangements will be made to complete admission process. The college teaching and non-teaching staff have not been receiving their salaries from the last two months.
The association president HS Rana said that the college non-teaching staff has not been receiving their salaries for the last two months as Higher Education directorate has stopped releasing salaries until principal is appointed in the college. They have submitted several memorandums to the college management but no steps have been taken. Finally, the association has decided to boycott work from Wednesday.
Negi said that management has decided to follow the policy of no work no pay policy for those who will go on strike. According to him, the Higher Education deputy director has no right to stop releasing salaries of college teaching and non-teaching staff. As per UP State Universities Act 1973 section 60(b), the signature of management is enough regarding releasing the salaries of the college staff. However, Higher Education director Mukul Pant said that as per Garhwal University VC’s direction, management should appoint principal in the college. As admission process is on and if any strike in the college could have adverse impact on admission in the college so she would talk to the VC regarding same and steps will be taken accordingly.
