Protesting against transfer orders in Chamoli district the teachers of the high school s and inter college would start an indefinite strike from Monday.
The teachers were upset as the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Chamoli had shifted more than 150 teachers under temporary arrangements.The district president Rajkeeya Shikshak Sangh KK Dimri told The Pioneer the CEO had shifted the teachers which is a gross violation of the teachers transfer policy 2013, which clearly stated that the practice of temporary arrang-ements should be stopped.He said process of departmental promotions and transfers of teachers has started and shifting of teachers at this juncture is unfortunate.
Dimri said a delegation of teachers also met the Urban Development Minister and Minister in charge Pritam Singh Panwar on Saturday and apprised him about the matter. Dimri claimed that the Minister assured him that he would discuss the issue with the senior department officials.The RSS claimed that all the teachers would participate in the strike which starts from the Monday.
