Teachers' posts: Counseling for waiting list candidates soon

Published on:

In wake of a situation arising due to absenteeism of large number of candidates for the counseling of primary teachers, the education department has decided to prepare a waiting list of the candidates who were left out in the first merit list. The department would organise a State counseling of waiting list candidates to fill the remaining posts of teachers.

It is reported that large number of candidates remained absent in ongoing counseling programe for the recruitment of 2,794 primary teachers under a special drive for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)/ Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualified unemployed candidates. The department has now given time till Thursday for such candidates to appear before the counseling committee otherwise their candidature would be cancelled. The additional director of State Council of Education Research and Training Dr R D Sharma said that the department is preparing a waiting list from among the left out candidates. This list is soon expected to be released.

The left out candidates have alleged that many serving candidates have applied in the present recruitment drive and because of doing of doing B.Ed. degree early they have been able to get into the merit list which was prepared on the basis of year wise seniority of doing B.Ed.. These candidates have allegedly applied to get posting in the accessible schools without obtaining the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC).

On the complaints of such candidates the education department ordered to take strict action against such candidates. Probably due to this threat many serving candidates choose to abstain from the counseling paving the way of some left out candidates.
