In a move which could spell trouble for the teachers posted in other departments on deputation even though their original period of deputation is over, the education department has ordered all such teachers to join their original departments within 15 days.
In a tersely worded letter to the state project directors of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the Directors of Primary, Secondary and SCERT and all officers of state education services the Director General (DG) of school education, D Senthil Pandian has said that all teachers who are on deputation to other departments should be recalled if their period of deputation is over. The department has set up a time limit of 15 days for these teachers to join their original department. The DG has clearly told the department officials that if such teachers fail to join within the aforesaid time period the department would not consider the service length of such employees after their end of deputation period. Pandian has asked the department officers to ensure that the service discontinuance is entered in the service book of such teachers.
The DG has appointed Director Secondary education R K Kunwar, Director Primary education Seema Jaunsari and Director SCERT Kusum Pant to monitor all the cases of teachers’ deputation and inform about department’s decision. These three officers are entrusted with the task of making a list of teachers who fail to join their previous place of posting within 15 days and submit the same to DG.
