The teachers affiliated to Rajkiya Shikshak Sangh (RSS) retorted to forced closure of offices of Chief Education Officers (CEO) and Block Education Officers (BEO) on Friday.

The agitated teachers got a shot in the arm by the information that the education director has cancelled the transfer of 99 teachers which were done in the name of attachment.

The teachers of high schools and Government inter colleges of the State attended their schools on Friday and in the morning prayer told the students about the reasons for their chalk down strike. The teachers then arrived at their respective BEO and CEO offices and locked them.

The State President of RSS Karnel Singh said that the agitation of teachers would continue till all their demands are accepted by the Government.

Welcoming the Education Department’s decision to cancel the attachment transfer of 99 teachers the Singh said that other demands of the organisation should be also accepted.

The RSS is on the path of agitation from Teachers’ day (September 5). The teachers are demanding payment of inaccessible allowance for the teachers posted in inaccessible areas of State, benefit of paid leaves for the period of Panchayat election duties, benefit of Assured Career Progression (ACP) and promotions to 700 vacant posts of Principals.

The teachers are also agitated with the department’s decision to declare many posts of lecturer Teachers (lT) surplus.
