Yi Dehradun Chapter intends to develop a startup ecosystem in Dehradun and inspire the budding entrepreneurs based in the city.  Dr Shrihari, vice- chancellor, UPES gave the welcome  speech.

The students of the college shared their journey of starting the E-Cell so far and the incubation process. The presentations were given by the participating college students which was prepared during the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015.

Dr Ajit Nigam, vice- president, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center, UPES, said “Economic growth of any region depends upon the condition it creates for nurturing entrepreneurship. Creation of an ecosystem, composed of mentors, investors, industrialists, MSMEs etc is the first base in that mammoth effort. CII through its Young Indians platform is in the process of creating such an ecosystem in Uttarakhand with particular focus on Dehradun. This mission is a starting point in this endeavor”

Vikas Garg, managing director, Forace Polymers interacted with the students, inspiring them and sharing his experience of becoming a successful entrepreneur.

He mentioned that they first need to identify abilities and understand if they can be entrepreneurs or not. He explained to the students how to run a successful business. He talked about important factors required to be noticed while running a business, like money, resources, goodwill, manpower and the like.

Young Indians (Yi) Dehradun Chapter says that  they are looking forward to organise such events on regular basis which can be held in different colleges after regular interval of time.
