Take all measures to curb disease: Health Dept DG

Published on:

The Director General (DG) of State health services, Dr Kusum Narriyal visited the dengue infested Patharibagh area of the city on Tuesday and directed the health department officials to take all measures to curb the disease. However the anger of local people on department officials erupted during the visit. They asked the DG to send a team of experts to the area as the efforts of the district health department are proving ineffective. The locals alleged that the district health officials are only doing formality in the name of the anti dengue drive.

Meanwhile 12 new cases of the disease were reported by the district health department. With this the number of cases in state capital has mounted to 136. The District Vector Borne diseases officer, J P Bahuguna said that blood samples of 87 suspected patients were collected by the department on Tuesday. He added that three dengue patients are admitted in the Doon hospital.
