Various important schemes facilitated by the Government under the animal husbandry department for the welfare of members of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes should be executed as swiftly as possible. The swift execution of such welfare schemes is vital to facilitate provision of benefit to the intended and eligible beneficiaries. The State Animal Husbandry Minister Pritam Singh Panwar issued this instructions to officials concerned, while chairing a meet to review the working of the animal husbandry department here on Wednesday.

The Minister further said that prominent publicity and awareness generation should also be undertaken in order to facilitate execution of such schemes on the ground level. Panwar said that one milch cow each is to be provided to women widowed during the June 2013 disaster. As part of this, 174 such women were benefitted under the scheme during the previous year. The distribution of milch cows to 34 widow women should be undertaken at a swift pace this year. Panwar told officials that the proposed budget of the department should be approved and released soon. The minister further referred to other aspects including the implementation of schemes for encouraging rearing of sheep, goats and cows by the SCST members falling in the below poverty line category. Referring to the Ahalya Bai Holkar  scheme, the minister further said that the scheme in question has been implemented in the interests of members of all the various sections of society.
