Acting on the direction of the Urban Development Minister and Dehradun minister in-charge Madan Kaushik to improve traffic system in the State capital, Dehradun District Magistrate SA Murugeshan inspected and conducted survey at various places like Clock Tower and ISBT on Thursday a day after he assumed the charge as the DM.
He was accompanied by SSP Sweety Aggarwal, SP City Ajay Singh and other department officers during the inspection. Survey was conducted at the crowded areas along the roads. They found that electricity poles hanging on the sides of the roads and some other hindrances are the principal factors leading to recurring traffic congestion in the city. Murugeshan directed public works department, Jal Sansthan, police and electricity departments to draft a proposal that would contain measures meant to improve traffic system in the city.
