'Summer camp to be held every year to disseminate cultural aspects'

A summer camp will be organised every year to encourage the understanding of cultural aspects of the different parts of India. The Century Pulp and Paper Mill chief operating officer Jaiprakash Narayan said this at the conclusion of a fortnight long summer camp held here.

At the conclusion of the summer camp, the attending children performed cultural items depicting traditions of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Southern and North Eastern States. They also performed with members of the Swar Sangam Sanstha from Kolkata.

Narayan said that such camps help the children develop and exhibit their hidden talents. “Staying with children from different regions also helped the kids learn more about the richness of Indian culture while exchanging knowledge and cultural aspects. The children will be motivated for social, mental and physical development by such camps,” he said, while adding that the mill will continue to hold such programmes every year so that children can enjoy their summer vacations in a meaningful manner.

The mill advisor, AK Bhatia, said that the summer camp was organised with an intention to facilitate personal growth of the children and their parents.
