Sudden cabinet meet not ok: CM

Published on:

Taking a serious note of the Cabinet meeting being held sans much preparation, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat asked the officials to present the notice of such meetings at least a week ahead to the Cabinet Ministers. While saying that Cabinet meetings would be held twice a month, the CM said that the bureaucrats, tasked to see the preparations, should be given enough time to go for the preparations. He vented his displeasure over the Cabinet meetings being convened with the notice given a few hours ahead.

Sources close to the CM said that the instruction was a part of the pledge he had taken to provide the State good governance. They said that the bureaucrats had been habituated to sit on the  notices of the   cabinet meetings, landing the gopan department in embarrassment.  What happened was that the hordes of staffs got into the cabinet meeting room while the meeting was on to distribute copies of the agenda.

“The CM has made it clear that he would not brook such things in the future,” said a source privy to the chief minister’s office.
