The vice president of the state congress, Surya Kant Dhasmana has claimed that the submerged floating restaurant, ‘Marina’ had no registration.

Addressing media persons at Rajiv Bhawan, the state congress headquarters here on Friday, Dhasmana said that Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat should answer that when he along with his ministers were attending a cabinet meeting on board of Marina, whether or not the boat had required certification and registration ?

On the BJP plea that the boat was purchased during Congress regime, the Congress leader said that though it is true the fact remains that the boat was formally inaugurated when CM Trivendra and his minsters attended a cabinet meeting on the Marina.

He said that the cabinet meeting on the ship without ‘No objection certificate’ and registration was an open violation of Indian Vessel Act.

Expressing surprise on the fact that Uttarakhand has yet to set up any authority for water sports in state even as politicians have made it a habit to start water sports and other activities in the state. Launching an attack on CM, the congress leader said that CM by organising the cabinet meeting on Marina played with the lives of his cabinet colleagues and tried to give a wrong message that the floating boat is safe. Rawat said that instead of putting blame on Congress, the BJP and CM should seek an apology from the people of the state.
