Sub-inspector Mahendra Singh Chauhan who has been deputed at SIT, IG Garhwal Range was conferred with ‘policeman of the month’ by IG Garhwal Range Sanjay Kumar Gunjyal on Tuesday. SIT has been formed at IG range level to resolve land dispute cases.
SIT received many complaints on land fraud and economic offence cases and action was taken on around 700 cases. Perusing all complaints and thoroughly examining them prior to registration, the analysis team led by SI Chauhan has cracked major fraudulent sale of lands, it is said.
SIT team arrested 110 persons in land fraudulent cases reported from across the State. While investigating around 910 bigha of government land at Kyarkuli village in Mussoorie land fraud, Chauhan arrested five persons involved in it. Moreover, a team led by him also arrested 10 people in connection with cases of government and private lands being grabbed and then sold illegally at Premnagar area.
SIT team led by him also played an important role in having land fraud cases opened in Kalagoan, Sahastradhara, Rajpur and other places in the city.
