Students reach school, find holiday notice for Harela fest

Published on:

As the State Government had announced public holiday for Saturday on late Friday evening to help the people celebrate Harela festival-which begins in the month of Shravan- the students of most of the schools faced trouble as they were not informed beforehand. They turned up at the schools at the usual time, braving the rains. The irony is that though most of the schools are charging their parents for the computer education of their wards from class one the school authorities fell woefully short of availing information dissemination facilities via the tools of modern  technology.

Besides, it throws a question mark on the efficiency of the State Government officials who tend to take  decisions much late in the day. The parents are annoyed. They say that had they decided things a bit earlier their wards would have been spared the trouble of going to the schools in the morning with the incessant rain on. Doon Cambridge School where parents started dropping their children since 7.30 am did not provide the holiday information earlier. The parents and their wards were surprised when they were informed on Saturday morning that the school was closed for the day by the order of the administration.
