In a bid to curb rampant use of polythene in State capital, students of World Taurian School took a small step in this direction. Through street shows future of our country tried to spread awareness regarding harmful effects of polythene among the residents.
They narrated a beautiful story which depicted the positive aspect of plastic bags in the first half while the other half showed its jeopardise. Show ended with a message ‘Nothing we use for few minutes should pollute our environment for hundreds of years’. Students showcased their show in three different localities; the audiences were spell-bound after looking the show. They accepted that it is high time now to contribute in restraining its use as they said, “It is the hour’s need that we should contribute in carrying out the ban effectively across the State.”
Principal Dr Singh said, “Despite administrations various effort it is found that use of plastic bags remains unabated. My students wanted to endow their contribution in generating awareness among the locale and for this they suggested me this unique concept. I felt it to be an out of the box suggestion as street plays are least popular in this region. I extended my full arm support in making their show successful.”
According to Singh their effort will soon be paid back as he strongly believes that the students attempt has ignited the viewers mind to a great extend and a positive impact will be seen in the near future.
Class IX student Shiv Shankar Patra said, “The basic idea behind this street show is to create awareness among the society and motivate them to cut-tail their use of plastic bags and adopt paper and jute bag against it. Our nature in is danger and there is need to protect it.” According to students it is their first step in the direction of protecting their environment.
