Chief Judicial Magistrate remanded the accused of a molestation case involving a girl, a Class VI student, to 14 days’ judicial custody under section 376, 511, 354 of Indian Penal Code and section 5/7 POSCO Act on Wednesday at district headquarter Pauri after the Kotdwar police produced accused in the court after arresting him in Kotdwar on Tuesday.
According to Kotdwar police S S I, Vijay Singh, the father of the victim lodged a complaint against the accused Sohan Singh, saying that he had molested her 12- year-old daughter. According to the complaint, the girl has been staying with her maternal aunt after her mother died. The girl’s father alleged that the husband of her aunt had molested his daughter when he found her alone in the house.
later, the girl informed him, her teachers and some others regarding the sexual assault she had undergone.The police on the report lodged by the survivor’s father registered a case under section 376, 511, 354 IPC and section 5/7 POSCO Act.
