Dehradun’s student activist group — Making A Difference by Being the Difference (MAD) — conducted a clean-up drive at Haridwar Road. A group of about 30 volunteers cleaned up the accumulated trash which was thrown in the open by residents, nearby street food vendors and grocery stores. The volunteers first collected the garbage in sacks and then transferred the same into garbage bins using two-wheelers they had brought to the site.
Astha, a volunteer of the organisation participating in the activity remarked, “Cleanup drives are one of my favourite activities. Transforming a dirty area gives a sense of satisfaction.”
“The fact that we are doing this for our city, our country is truly satisfying,” added another group member Anushka.
Group members Karan Oberoi, Shardul Aswal, Yashraj, Vijay Pratap and Saurabh Dandriyal among others were also among who participated in the cleanup drive.
