There is a strong undercurrent in favour of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the State and its effect would be visible in the results of the General Elections. Anoop Nautiyal, the party candidate from Tehri lok Sabha constituency said this while talking to The Pioneer on Friday.
Nautiyal campaigned extensively in the Saklana and Chamba areas of Tehri lok Sabha constituency on Friday. He was accompanied by the party workers during the campaign, the AAP candidate asked the voters to overthrow the corrupt Congress and BJP and vote for AAP this time.
Nautiyal said that the issues in the mountainous areas are different from the plains which need to be addressed specifically. He said that employment in Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) India limited and rehabilitation of the disaster affected people are some the issues which need immediate attention.
The AAP leader claimed that there is an undercurrent in the favour AAP in the area and people are not openly expressing themselves. Nautiyal said that his party recently came out with the election manifesto for Uttarakhand and he will soon release the manifesto for Tehri lok Sabha segment also, this manifesto would incorporate the local aspirations, averred the AAP candidate.
