Stop spitting fire, act to help the affected people, CM advisor tells Bhatt

Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media advisor Surendra Kumar on Friday appealed to the State BJP president and leader of  the Opposition Ajay Bhatt not to spit fire over the works done by the State Government post June 2013 disaster. “This would turn gibberish as the experts’ opinion  is unanimous in our favour. I like to ask them what the BJP leaders  had done on three days after the disaster struckIJ They were seemingly in a sweet slumber.

later, they started raising hue and cry over the perceived  failure of  the State Government in  reconstructing things,” he  said. He further asked  the saffron leaders to focus on the disaster- affected areas instead of bickering  over petty points. “It is  time to  concentrate on the relief to be given to the disaster-affected areas. However, State  BJP brass is engaged  in finding fault with the   state government which has plunged headlong into rescue operation the moment  the  rainfall triggered emergency arose. The rescue  and relief team has reached the spots. Many  lives have been saved due to the state government remaining alert,” he said.

“NDRF, SDRF and ITBP along with local administration are now busy in the rescue operation. If Bhatt has any suggestion we would welcome it,”  CM’s aide said.He also referred  to   BJP leaders’ critical statement on selection of search committee for lokayukta. “The leader of  the Opposition Ajay Bhatt is involved with  the search committee. If  there is any lacuna he should speak it  out. If he has any issue he can  write.  If the search committee happens to bungle with the matter  Bhatt would be squarely  responsible for it.  Politicising the matter would not absolve him and his party of the blame that  might accrue,” Kumar said.
