Acting on the orders of the education minister, Arvind Pandey, the additional Chief Secretary Ranvir Singh has issued a stern warning to all private schools on charging re-admission fees and asking for caution money from the parents of the students.
In a letter directed to Chief Education Officers (CEO) of all districts, Singh has said that it has come to the notice that many private schools affiliated by CBSE, ICSE and Uttarakhand Board are levying re-a admission fees on the students every year.
Similarly the schools also insist the parents to deposit caution money. In the order the ACS has clearly said that the CEO should ensure that the re- admission is not charged and in cases where the schools have collected these fees, they should refund it immediately. Taking cognizance of the complaints of parents, the education minister on Wednesday had directed the Additional Chief Secretary, Dr Ranvir Singh to ensure that re-admission fees charged by the private schools should be refunded immediately and caution money should not be levied.
