'Stern action will be taken against guilty'

Published on:

The advisor to the CM, Dr Naveen Baluni told newsmen at associated hospital of GDMC that inquiry into the incident of refusal to admit patients of gas leak case would be done and stern action would be initiated against those found responsible. However, this threat proved eyewash as the inquiry committee headed by him veered to the point that the hospital had adequate supply of oxygen but beds were not available.

Shockingly in a bid to save the skin of the doctors and other staff members it shifted the onus of not admitting the patients of gas leakage

case on the relatives who took them to private hospital before alternate arrangements could be made. It is clear that no well wisher of patients would have waited for alternate arrangements when the doctors on duty had clearly told them that the hospital does not have beds with oxygen supply. Further the inquiry committee ignored the fact that dengue ward with ten beds and supply of oxygen was empty at that time and the patients complaining suffocation could have been accommodated in it.
